PLDT and Erika Santos split after four-year PVL journey
Erika Santos is officially moving on from PLDT, closing the chapter of her four-season tenure with the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) club.
The 25-year-old La Salle alumna shared her goodbye through a heartfelt message on social media Monday evening, April 28, expressing gratitude to the High Speed Hitters.
“After three unforgettable years representing PLDT, the time has come for me to turn the page and embrace a new chapter. I’ve been honored to compete alongside incredible teammates and guided by dedicated coaches,” Santos wrote.
Throughout the recently concluded 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference, Santos proved to be a reliable secondary option behind top scorer Savi Davison.
She wrapped up the tournament ranked 13th in total points with 134 and averaged 12.18 points per game. Her spiking also stood out, as she notched an impressive 34.74%—good for fourth-best in the league.
Santos’ departure adds another challenge for PLDT, which now looks to the returning Kianna Dy as a potential opposite spiker. Dy is working her way back after spending over a year rehabilitating a knee injury, the details of which have not been publicly disclosed.
Meanwhile, the rest of PLDT’s offensive core includes a promising mix of youth and experience, featuring rising stars Kiesha Bedonia and Shiela Kiseo alongside seasoned hitters Fiola Ceballos and Jovy Prado.
